Nan Kappeler, owner of NC Kappeler, LLC, founded T MAT PRO transition mats in 2006. As a former collegiate swimmer, ocean lifeguard and long-time triathlete, Nan created the T MAT PRO transition mats based on her own triathlon experiences and feedback from friends and fellow competitors about their transition area frustrations. Surfers in the southern California area, who have for decades used changing mats, provided her with the idea and inspiration to create the perfect transition mat.
