Hammer Gel, Recoverite, Endurolyte, HEED, Hammer Bar, Perpetuem, Sustained Energy, Hammer Whey, Hammer Soy, Premium Insurance Caps and Race Caps products.
The ingredients that make up Hammer Nutrition’s range of products are dictated by the following philosophy:
Daily Diet
Organic foods should be eaten as much as possible and packaged, processed foods, artificial sweeteners, colours, flavours and preservatives should all be avoided as much as possible. The quality of calories consumed is very important.
Sugar is Bad
All "ose" (sucrose, fructose, glucose, etc.) is highly processed and should be avoided in daily diet and especially during exercise. These sugars are not only inefficient fuels, they may considered health hazards as well.
Protein
Protein is not just for body builders but is vitally important for endurance athletes as well. Hammer Nutrition suggests that 1/2 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight should be consumed daily as a minimum. This may be increased to 3/4 gram per pound of bodyweight daily during periods of high volume endurance training and/or when wanting to increase lean muscle mass. If exercise extends well beyond two hours, Soy protein should be included.
